Why Your Business Needs a Website, Logo, and Branding

Have you thought about a website, logo, and branding yet? If not, you should maybe put this at the top of your agenda. After years of speaking to my clients, the general feedback is that when starting a new business, a website is quite a daunting thought—especially if you’re not familiar with the internet.

Our Unique Approach to Helping You

I have a unique approach when speaking to any of my clients. I’m not just here to close a business deal but more so to offer practical and friendly advice and to guide you step by step through your project. How often do you come across a company that can help with your website, online marketing, and graphic design? Most web design companies employ geeks who can’t communicate in any other language apart from HTML. We do the opposite and have been able to help many businesses get the most out of their project without bursting the bank account.

A Real-Life Example: The Beauty Spa in Clapham

About 6 months ago, I had a telephone conversation with a Beauty Spa based in Clapham, London. This client was spending on average £10,000 per quarter on their graphic design and website development. Little did the client know, but he was not getting the most out of his current development team.

What Is SEO and Why Does It Matter?

You might have heard of the term SEO before. SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation, is a key part of the web design world and decides whether your business lands on the first page of Google or not. Picture this: you’ve just launched your new business, you’ve got an incredible product, and you’re eager for everyone to know about it! What’s the best way to show it off? Online, of course! But if no one can find your website, what’s the point? That’s where SEO steps in.

For local businesses especially, Local SEO is a game-changer. It’s all about making sure your website pops up when nearby customers search for what you offer—like “coffee shop near me” or “plumber in [your town].” Without it, you could miss out on people right on your doorstep who are ready to buy. So, while general SEO gets you seen by a wider audience, Local SEO hones in on your community, driving foot traffic and local sales. It’s a must for any business wanting to stand out in their area.

The Beauty Spa’s Website Struggles

Going back to the Beauty Spa client, this client had a good-looking website, but no one was finding it within Google. The only traffic the website was receiving was from PR and listings within last-minute offer websites. The good news was that the client was receiving customers from these campaigns, but on the negative side, he was paying a commission and also had to discount his products, thus losing revenue. The website was not correctly search engine optimised, and at the same time, there was an error on the homepage which led to 30%+ of his customers not being able to navigate the website correctly. Let’s just say this left a very sour taste in the client’s mouth.

How We Transformed the Beauty Spa’s Online Presence

Back in March 2012, SO Web Designs agreed to become the new website development company for the Beauty Spa. A website revamp was performed; Search Engine Optimisation was added to every single page across the website. Our in-house graphic designer was brought into the project to deal with the re-branding and in-store promotional material. Within a 6-month period, the Beauty Spa paused all of its last-minute offers on third-party websites and increased its revenue by 60%, but also saved a massive amount on his quarterly website development and graphic design costs—in fact, saving £7,500 per quarter.

Why a Website Is Essential for Your Business

The importance of having a website these days in business is ultimately no different to having a mobile phone or laptop. A website is used as a storefront for your business, and you can reap the rewards of being placed correctly into Google. You have probably noticed that we are referring to Google solely in this article—there’s a reason behind this. What search engine do you generally use when you are looking for something online? Our theory is that if you’re not listed on Google, you are nowhere. Simply Google “Beauty Spa Clapham” and you will see how we have helped the Beauty Spa.

The Power of a Professional Logo

Alongside having a website, you need a professional logo. The logo would be used across your website but also for promotional material like business cards, letterheads, etc. Many clients have approached us who have attempted to create their own website or logo and have wondered why they aren’t getting the hundreds of visitors per month through their website. A simple telephone call with us has helped them understand why this traffic just isn’t happening.

Affordable Solutions for Your Business

One thing to remember: website and graphic design services do not have to cost a fortune. It’s about finding the right company who can handle all of your requirements under one roof. Instead, spend time on your business instead of spending hours trying to do it yourself.
