The Brief
Downlight Electrical is an electrical contractor based in Fleet, Hampshire, handling domestic and commercial work across Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. Like many local trades, they were being found through directory listings and a Facebook page, where they sat alongside every other electrician in the area.
They needed a website of their own: one that would win calls from homeowners, landlords and commercial customers searching Google, and make it as easy as possible to pick up the phone.
What we built
We built the site mobile-first because most people searching for an electrician do so on their phones, often in a hurry.
- Tap-to-call on every page. The phone number is always one tap away, whether someone is reading about electrical services or the emergency call-out page.
- A page for each job people search for. Domestic electrical work, commercial electrical services, emergency call-outs, EV charger installation, and solar PV each have their own page, written around how customers describe the problem.
- Local SEO from day one. Page titles, headings and content were written around searches such as “electrician Fleet” and “electrician Farnham”, so the site could compete for high-intent local traffic from launch.
- Proof before the phone call. A portfolio of completed jobs and customer testimonials gives first-time visitors a reason to trust a company they haven’t used before.
- Plain, confident copy. The messaging sticks to three things the business stands on: knowledge and expertise, customer satisfaction and transparent pricing.
The Result
Downlight Electrical now has a professional website that sets it apart from the directory-listing competition and generates a steady flow of local enquiries.
