| How much do you charge to change my website once it's finished? | |
 | We would like to do everything for free but we simply can't.
If you would like anything changing on your site after it has been completed we charge £25 per hour, the total cost for any changes will be confirmed prior to the work being undertaken. |
| Who are your typical customers? | |
| We have created websites for a wide range of customers, from large companies, charities, religious organisations, hobbyists and small businesses.
No project is too large or too small.
Many of our customers come to us as they feel that other web design companies don't consider thieir project big enough to work on.
We welcome any project of any size. |
| My website has your link so why don't I have an affiliate account? | |
| We can't automatically register all our customers into our affiliate scheme.
You have to decide that you want to join and benefit from the leads you may generate.
Once you join, we will receive a confirmation and we will then amend the link at the bottom of your site. |
| How do you track sales for affiliates? | |
| We track the sales via many methods to ensure your account is credited with all the sales you have made.
Likewise, it is not possible to try to create fake or duplicate orders to manipulate an account balance. When you use your affiliate link for referring potential new customers to us, as soon as you enter our website it will record your affiliate details. |
| Is there an minimum or maximum payout for affiliates? | |
| No, if you only refer one customer in a month, we will send your payment to your registered address. Likewise, no matter how many customers you refer you will receive your full amount. |
| How much do you pay to your affiliates? | |
| Every affilaite receives £20 for every customer they refer and then places an order via our online order form. |

| Like many companies we have to advertise so customers can find us.
Web site design is extremely competitive so we use as many avenues as possible to reach as many people as possible
Affiliate marketing means that anyone can advertise our services and they get paid for it! |

| Yes
When you sign up for your affiliate account you can put the link into as many websites as you like.
All sales will be credited to your one account no matter where the sales have come from. |

| What conditions do you have? | |
| We ask all our clients to host their sites on our servers for the first year, just to make sure all is OK and all sites must have the SO Web Designs Ltd link at the bottom of each page
. This link is our advertising and helps us keep our prices down.
The link can be removed for £150 to compensate the loss of advertising exposure.
However, this link can generate money for you if you join our affiliate scheme |
| Why do you have a package for hotels and guest houses? | |
| Hotel and guest houses have specific industry needs and it has been proven that on online booking facility can vastly increase your occupancy rate.
We have created a solution so that every hotel or guest house can provide online booking. |
| Can you develop my website? | |
| Certainly. The Content Management System is designed to have elements bolted on to it and removed as they become obsolete.
If you need to add a shopping cart, events calendar, booking form etc they simply can be added on when you are ready.
We do charge for changes once a website has been completed but we keep these costs as low as possible. |
| Who are you? | |
| We are Tom Upton and Andrew Bryant, we have been within the internet industry since 2001 and have been undertaking search engine optimisation and website designs for just as long.
We always aim to be reasonable and normal with our clients, sounds daft but it has ensured we haven't lost a client yet. |
| What is your hosting like? | |
| We offer unlimited emails, bandwidth, database size, disk size etc. It has 99.98% uptime and we use it for all our clients.
If we didn't know it was reliable we wouldn't use it.
After the first 12 months, during which your hosting is free, you can then renew your hosting at a low price with our own hosting service at http://lowcosthosting.sowebdesigns.co.uk
We will contact you before your 12 months period has expired to arrange your hosting, or to help transfer your site to your chosen hosting providor |
| Why do you insist on hosting the websites? | |
| This is just for the first year and it's included in all our fees.
When we build a website we need to make sure the server has the latest version of PHP, mysql and a host of other requirements.
If we use someone else's server it takes us longer to administer and the costs would have to go up.
After the first year our client can either go with another hosting company, and we will help with the move, or they can continue with us for just £25 per year |
| How long does it take to create a website? | |
| We usually work on two weeks.
That's about three days for us to create the website and 9 days for our clients to decide on images, colour schemes, functionality etc!
We usually create a number of draft templates that the client then guides us to refine until they have the website they want. |
| What happens if SO Web Designs go bust? | |
| 1/ It won't happen, we manage our costs and overheads to ensure we can't.
2/ If it did then because we use open source technology (Joomla) there are many web designers who can just pick up from where we left off. (They won't be as good or as cheap as us though!)
3/ As a limited company we are required to manage our finances in a responsible manner so you have the reassurance of working with a well managed company |
| How many websites have you created? | |
| Lots!
If we counted it would probably be in the hundreds but we can't show them all as we sub-contract to a number of webdesigners who sometimes need to pass work on if they are busy or they need a low cost website for their clients. |
| What are your payment terms? | |
| We split the fee into two installments, 50% to start the project and the second 50% when you consider the project is finished.
This ensures we have the funds to start the project and it provides you with confidence that you don't pay until you are completely satisifed. |
| Why are you so cheap? | |
| We use Joomla as our CMS system.
It is available as open source so anyone can download and use it.
However, it can take you some time to learn, configure and explore all its uses.
We provide our experience and knowledge to short cut this process for you and to create a design you like |

| We build PHP database driven websites so our sites have masses of features:
